To be honest the score-line doesn't reflect the difference between the two teams; this was by far the poorest Portadown team I have seen in many a year. We could and should have been 3-0 up at half-time but had to contend with a 1-0 lead which was squandered midway through the second half with a needless penalty given away. But up step our saviour, Winkie Murphy, who completed a remarkable hat-trick especially for a central defender. Credit also has to be given to young left back Niall Quinn who had a great game and for someone so young how he rarely gave away a needless ball, in fact his delivery for two of the corners that led to Winkie's goals were superb. A special mention to the referee - your assist for Ryan Henderson's was much appreciated, although you did miss Ryan's perfectly good goal later in the game.
Goal-scorers: Winkie Murphy (3), Ryan Henderson.
