A point gained or two dropped? That's the question that was being asked as we left Shamrock Park. An excellent goal from Peter Thompson had us believing that we were on our way to the 3 points but in a cruel twist of fate late in the game the hosts were awarded a penalty which was converted by Murray who earlier had missed two absolute sitters. A decent game in which we played the better football and had controlled the start of both halves. Portadown were very direct with the long ball game but it worked for them and they looked dangerous in spells. What baffled me was the reluctance to use the players on the bench to see out the game as it was obvious to most watching that a change was needed.
Goal scorer: Peter Thompson.
