Useful work-out for the team especially a number of first team squad players who haven't really played that much over the past six matches. On a horrible night to watch never mind play football three goals from Matthew Tipton and one from Gary Browne were enough to see a largely youthful team beat a dogged Orangefield outfit who got the benefit of a lift just before half-time with a generous penalty followed by a nice finish at the start of the second half. Some decent young players on view and if a number of them are given the opportunity to break through in the next couple of years the future certainly looks good. Good luck to Orangefield in the season ahead and in their quest to move their Club forward. It was a nice touch, and much appreciated, to invite members of all three of the East Belfast Clubs along to the Club room at half-time and after the match.
Goal scorers: Gary Browne; Matthew Tipton (3).
