Despite having at least 75% of the play we couldn't turn the advantage into goals and were taught a lesson by probably the best player, on his day, in the league - and just to think he could have been playing in a Royal Blue shirt this season! Rather than dwell too much on the game itself we should maybe ponder on some of the performances on the night. Firstly what has happened to Alan Blayney? He looks a shell of his former self. One maybe has to question if the change in goalkeeping coach has had an impact. Robbie Garrett hasn't been firing on too many cylinders in midfield and again last night was the same although he did show a few glimpses of his former self. The same could be said of Michael Gault. Has the captaincy had a negative impact on him? Philip Lowry - it was said to me last night that he is a great player when the team is 3 or 4 up but is a luxury when you really need to get stuck in. Rory Patterson - no doubt is a great player/goal scorer but I don't believe our style of play suits him, hopefully I am proved wrong in the long run.
