On a poor surface that made it difficult to play any decent football we were convincing winners and are slowly clawing our way back into the title race. Regardless of the surface we still have keep the ball down as when we did today we were excellent and DC had no answer (apart from committing quite a number of fouls), how they got away with only one booking is beyond me. Strangely Johnny Black got booked late on in the game, the reason - taking a free kick before the referee blew his whistle - after seeing some of the assaults that went before it was an unbelievable decision. Anyhow three good goals with the pick coming up near the end when Jamie Mulgrew brilliantly burst through their defence from inside our own half to finish sweetly. I know that Peter and Mark scored but there is something missing from both their games at present, maybe it's time for DJ to try one of the young strikers from the Swifts to see how they can handle the pressure of the first team (no matter how I like to give players a chance Gary Browne is not the answer).
Goal scorers: Mark McAllister, Peter Thompson, Jamie Mulgrew.
