This game was over after 30 minutes when we were 2-0 up and cruising along. We dominated from start to finish and even though we were 5-0 up at half-time we could, and probably should, have been 8 up - their keeper making a great save from a Johnny Black free-kick and Peter hitting the crossbar and putting one over when on a one on one with their keeper. Anyhow we had to be content with a solitary strike in the second half and what a strike it was after a great move Gary Browne finishing with a superb volley. This is more like the Linfield that we expect with every player playing their part, with good solid football, excellent positional play, moving into space to receive return passes and plenty of commitment in winning the ball back. Without doubt the man of the match by a mile was Jamie Mulgrew who once again took the brunt of some physical tackling by the opposition. A special mention also to Johnny Black who for the third game in a row played excellently, it is no co-incidence that we have had three clean sheets in those games; and what a strike for his goal!
Goal scorers: Peter Thompson, Johnny Black, Michael Carvill, Brian McCaul, Gary Browne.
