On one of the coldest days of the year, on an atrocious pitch and officiated by an equally atrocious referee we actually had a very good competitive match which, to be honest, we should have won having dominated the second half and a lot of the first half. Mark Courtney never ceases to amaze with some of his decision making and to allow Portadown's opener after it looked as though Jim Ervin had been pushed to the ground was the icing on the cake for him. Nevertheless it was in spite of him that we had a good contest with plenty of physical play, some periods of reasonable football with plenty of effort and chances created. As mentioned we should have won comfortably but we would have settled for a point before kick off. How Peter Thompson squeezed the ball home between the keeper and the post is beyond me and when Aaron Burns got the better of his brother and hit the crossbar we thought we would go on and win but in the end we had to settle for the point that keeps us four ahead of todays opponents.
Goal scorer: Peter Thompson.
