They say that at this stage of the season it's not the performance that counts but the result and with a 1-0 victory over our nearest rivals that's exactly what we got although overall I thought we deserved our win. On a very difficult surface on which both teams struggled we controlled most of the match without creating a lot of chances. Alan Blayney had one save to make in the whole match and that came in the 92nd minute from a tame effort. An excellent goal created by a great move involving Peter Thompson and Michael Carvill setting up Robbie Garrett settled the match in the 84th minute. What happened after the final whistle left a lot to be desired but then that's up the authorities to sort out - be interesting to see what they come up with.
