Hate to start the season off by citing the referee as the main attraction but it certainly was the Alan Black show at Mourneview today which is such a pity as it was a very good game. If this is the standard on offer by the teams this season then we should be in for an excellent time. We were very slow out of the blocks in both halves and could so easily have been 2-0 down after Glenavon hit the post but we rallied and took control and got a deserved equaliser before half-time. The decision by the referee to send off 'Ribs' was baffling especially when he awarded a free kick to us. An excellent goal by Nathan Hanley, after an outstanding block in our box prevented a sure fire goal, seen us home and although Glenavon pressed they never troubled Alan Blayney. All in all a good performance with, in my opinion, Albert Watson as the stand out performer.
Goal scorers: Jamie Mulgrew. Nathan Hanley.
