Yet another comfortable victory over a physical Crusaders side that ended the match with 10 men although the sending off itself was the result of a pull back on Michael Carvill as he capitalised on a poor back pass. On a day when the weather took a turn for the worse we actually played some decent football, it's a pity it wasn't like this more often. It took a while for the breakthrough to come but a good delivery from a corner saw Albert Watson power in a header, following that a decent move saw Phillip Lowry score just before half-time. Once the penalty was converted after the sending off it was all over as a contest and we cruised to an easy win. Nice to see young Neil Dougan make an appearance as a sub and he helped set up a nice goal for Darryl Fordyce. Man of the match was Jim Ervin who, even in the last 10 minutes, was marauding up the pitch in search of another goal. As for the officials, well we won in spite of them rather than because of them, we could have the best players in the best league in the world and the officiating would still drag it down to a medicore level.
Goal scorers: Albert Watson, Phillip Lowry, Peter Thompson, Darryl Fordyce, Billy Joe Burns.
