These are the matches that you have to knuckle down and fight for the three points and we certainly achieved that. A tough game, especially considering our previous two matches at Solitude, but in the first half I thought we played some decent stuff and looked dangerous every time we went forward. The introduction of Darryl Fordyce for the unfortunate Mark McAllister made all the difference and his first goal was a beauty. In the second half we sat too deep and allowed them to come at us and we didn't make use of the extra man advantage but all in all it was a very good result. And what about that Winkie Murphy volley to set up the third goal - he must have been watching some videos of Spike during the week? I also can't believe I am saying this but some credit has to go to the referee who handled the match pretty well, not perfect, but the best that I have seen this year.
Goal scorers: Darryl Fordyce (2), Peter Thompson.
